All About Mrs. Hillenburg
Hi, I'm Lisa Hillenburg. I've always known that I want to be a teacher. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up while in Mrs. Lytle's first grade class, I answered, "A Teacher!" This is currently my 22nd year of teaching and my 12th year to be teaching third grade at Willard East elementary.
I'm very active with my family. We enjoy activities with our church, vacations, games and being outdoors. Some of my favorites are: activities: reading, gardening (I'm trying to grow pumpkins right now), traveling, playing the piano books: To Kill a Mockingbird, Jane Eyre, "How to" books, cook books (primarily the pictures) third grade books: (oh my, there are so many) Ruby Holler, Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Farmer Boy, Little House in the Big Woods, children's authors: Patricia Polacco, Sharon Creech, Dr. Seuss movies: Pride and Prejudice, Mary Poppins, Princess Bride (so many funny quotes), places: my house, the beach (any ocean beach), Montana (at my Grandma's house), Silver Dollar City (haven't been in a few years though), the library food: (again, oh my, there are so many) seafood, fried pork tacos, apples with peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, guacamole and chips, cherry pie, breakfast foods, (the list could go on and on and on) drinks: water, coffee, sweet tea, a Pepsi now and then ;) t.v. shows: mystery shows like 48 Hours and Dateline, The Middle, CBS Sunday Morning News (my family thinks I'm crazy), job: TEACHING :) |
This is a picture of me when I was in the third grade. My third grade teacher was Mrs. Davis. I remember learning my multiplication facts and reading "chapter" books. I still have a few books that I had in elementary school. Some of my favorite grade school memories are; "The Gingerbread Man" play that my second grade class performed, the option of buying ice cream at afternoon recess for 10 cents, and having the hardest time learning how to spell the word "orange".
